It is my understanding that last week's 2009 American Polygraph Association Seminar in Nashville, Tennessee was the largest in APA history with over 600 examiners in attendance. Kudos to Keith Gaines as the Seminar Organizer. I very much enjoyed Keith's outside-the-box, light-hearted and slightly ADHD approach to the seminar and banquet.
Short Attention Span Highlights
- Thought provoking continuing education topics
- Seasoned professional speakers
- Many new polygraph vendors mixed with the steady stable usual suspects
- Awesome Monday night reception and 'outside pool noise' provided by Complete Equity Markets (Melanie Javens)
- Historical Grand Ole' Opry Wednesday night entertainment
- Enjoyable 'Can someone get Ray Nelson from the bar to accept his award' banquet award presentations
- A poignant call by President Dan Sosnowski for all examiners to "Sheath our Swords" and begin working toward unity while respecting differing non-essential ideas and philosophies
- Memorable quotes by banquet speaker Judge Jonathan C. Thacher:
- "A banquet speaker is like the body of the deceased at an Irish Wake. You need the body to have a party, but no one really cares what they have to say."
- "We will all have opportunities in our career to forget our dedication to truth"
