Single State Seminar + Well Structured & Organized + Pleasant Facilities + Generous Food & Drinks + High Quality Training = 'IMPRESSIVE'
Although I'm certain many officers and members helped contribute to a great seminar, it certainly seems that John Thorpe, the seminar organizer, worked as point man and deserves special credit. A few highlights:
- The two day event featured Dr. Charles Honts of Utah. I think most would agree that gleaning new information from one of our leading researchers is always educational and beneficial.
- Well over 100 examiners and Four Vendors in attendance
- Each member was asked to sign in and out at the start, lunch and ending of each day's training. More examiners learning and fewer examiners 'ditching class'.
- The first coffee servings each day came with Breakfast :) FREE
- Tons of good food and drinks provided at the reception following the first day of meetings. FREE
- Lunch Buffet provided after the second day of meetings. FREE
- Raffle for end of training prizes was displayed and promoted each day
In summary, it was obvious that the FPA puts considerable energy and resources into providing quality continuing education opportunities not only to its membership, but to any examiner who is interested. We ran into several out of state examiners who made the trip to Florida.
So examiners, if you live in the Southeast and need an enjoyable training experience, be sure to look at the Florida Polygraph Association which holds two main training sessions a year. For info and membership, please visit the FPA website.
